Come to the semi-annual Fine Arts Night at Little Axe High School on May 6th from 4:30-8:00. There will be an art exhibition, band concert and choir concert that will be showcasing the wonderful talents of our students. Hopefully, you all have seen this year's Impact Aid form come home with your students. There is an option to fill it out online as well: https://forms.gle/1meBMNWFUbodeQoS8 Please help Little Axe Schools by completing this survey form for the Impact Aid Grant. Impact Aid assists school districts which educate federally connected children with the lost portion of the local tax base due to federal ownership of property. The information is of vital importance to all students in our school district.

According to 47 OK Stat § 11-705 (2022), "The driver of a vehicle meeting or overtaking a school bus that is stopped to take on or discharge school children, and on which the red loading signals are in operation, is to stop the vehicle before it reaches the school bus and not proceed until the loading signals are deactivated and then proceed past such school bus at a speed which is reasonable and with due caution for the safety of such school children and other occupants." Please stop for our school buses as they provide safe transportation to and from school for our students.

All NEW student enrollment (PREK-5th Grade) will start on Monday April 12th from 9-3. Please come to the Elementary Office with a birth certificate, shot record, proof of residence and ID. Pre-K is first come first serve. We will only accept 80 students!

Friendly Reminder: Each Tuesday and Thursday, your child will be sent home with 5 days’ worth of breakfast and lunch provided free to them through the school. If your child is a bus rider, we ask that if possible meet them at the bus stop to help carry their items. The meals have been packaged in the most efficient way possible but carrying this amount of food could be difficult for some of our students. If your child is a car rider, you may pick up their food at the loading dock of the elementary between the time of 3:00-3:45 on their scheduled day to be in traditional school. The buses will be arriving in the bus lane at this time so we ask that you park in the parking lot and walk up to the loading dock door to pick up your child’s food. Please remember, we are practicing social distancing and a mask must be worn. If you choose to opt out and do not want your child to receive these meals, please email your child’s teacher. We ask that you be patient with us as we try to find the most efficient way of delivering these meals to our students. If you have any questions, please contact the elementary at 405-447-0913. Dear Little Axe Parents, Guardians, and Patrons of Little Axe Public School, We are excited to announce that, effective Monday, September 14, 2020 Little Axe Public Schools will be serving free meals for all children aged 0-18 years of age. Students who are on campus and choosing to eat in the cafeteria will do so as usual, they will not be charged. Drive thru meals will be offered for virtual students and children who are not students of Little Axe on Tuesdays from 10-11:30 am. Dear Parents/Guardians, This afternoon there was a strong smell of gas in the main building, authorities were notified immediately. The smell was related to ongoing construction on the roof, where a planned reconnect took place. As a precaution, the building was evacuated. At no time were students in any danger. Due to the independence day holiday, drive through meals will only be served on Monday, June 28. The cafeteria staff will be serving all 5 days of meals on Monday. Thank you for your support of the summer feeding program.

Little Axe Elementary Distance Learning Plan information: • Instruction begins on Monday, April 6, 2020. • Educational Packets will be available Monday at 10:00 o Packets will be available for printing on our Little Axe Website o They will be on the buses when they deliver meals o They will also be grade level boxes in front of the elementary which will be available for pickup • Directions and online resources are included in these educational packets. • Once a page has been completed, you may take a picture or scan it and send it to your teacher via email, remind app or the class social media page. • Teachers have established “office hours” for you to be able to contact them. o We ask that you have some sort of contact with your teacher at least 2 times per week. In the upcoming weeks, procedures will be established for yearbook, Spring pictures, etc. I would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience during this time. To Little Axe Community, In an effort to minimize possible exposure, Little Axe Public School will be changing the delivery schedule. On Monday, April 6, 2020, we will deliver meals for three days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), then, on Thursday, April 9th, 2020, we will deliver meals for two days (Thursday and Friday). Please bring something to carry meals in as we will not have boxes to send home. Thank you for your support and understanding. Buses are one the way as of 40 minutes ago. Keep an eye open for them. Remember the children need to be present to receive the meals.

At approximately 11:45 this morning, an electrical outlet shorted out in the portable buildings (5th grade classrooms). The building was evacuated, fire department notified, and the problem was remedied. At no time were any children in danger and all electrical safety systems (breakers) worked as they should. We are excited to announce that Rachel Scott, a sophomore at LAHSl who is currently undergoing Lukemia treatments will be delivering the game ball for the Homecoming Football game on Friday night! She will be arriving via helicopter to deliver the football.

Due to the possibility of dangerous weather conditions tomorrow morning, Little Axe Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday February 28th, 2019. Be Safe!
